Submission System & Call for Papers

ICALA 2026 Participant Guidelines: Step-by-Step Instructions
Register – Create an account on the conference website.
Submit Abstract – Submit once through the lead author’s account; list all co-authors.
Await Review – Decision sent by 25 Feb 2026.
Pay Fee – Only after acceptance. Early Bird (MOP 1,900) ends 10 Mar 2026.
Attend – In-person in Macau, 16–19 April 2026.
Get Documents – After attendance, log in to download:

✓ Acceptance Letter
✓ Participation/Presentation Certificate
Submission Revisions
Once your abstract is submitted, it is placed in the review queue immediately. To maintain the integrity of the review process and prevent system chaos, direct revisions to submitted abstracts are not permitted.
If You Need to Make Changes:
Should you need to correct or update your submission, you must:
- Email our committee at fhssconference@cityu.edu.mo with: Your full name, registration ID, and a clear request to delete the previous submission
- Wait for confirmation that your previous submission has been removed from the system
- Resubmit your corrected abstract as a new submission
Checking Your Submission History:
You can view your previous registration details and submission records in your membership profile page on the conference system.
Guidelines for Co-Author Submissions
- One Submission Per Paper: Please submit your abstract only once through the lead author’s account. Duplicate submissions will cause system conflicts and must be avoided.
- Complete Author Information: In the submission section, you must clearly list all co-authors' full names, affiliations, and email addresses. This is mandatory for proper acknowledgment by attaching a separate document.
- Individual Registration for Presenters: Each co-author who plans to attend and present must register individually. During registration, co-authors who did not submit the abstract should mark themselves as co-authors of the paper for official records.

Payment Period
Early‑bird Rate: 25 February 2026 – 10 March 2026
Standard Rate: 13 March 2026 – 1 April 2026
Late Rate: 2 April 2026 – 9 April 2026
Accepted Payment Methods
After Payment
- Please save your payment receipt.
- Upload the receipt to the conference website for verification.
- You may check your payment status in your personal center.
- Once manual review is completed, you will be able to download your official receipt.
Refund Policy
Refund Deadlines & Rates
- Full refund: Requests received on or before 20 March 2026
- 50% refund: Requests received on or before 29 March 2026
- Partial refund: For requests received after 29 March 2026 but on or before 16 April 2026, only the AALA membership fee will be refunded.
- No refund: Requests submitted after 16 April 2026 will not be entertained.
Refund Procedure
To apply for a refund:
- Send an official refund request via email to the organizing committee.
- Complete and return the refund form provided by the committee, including:
Banking information
Passport or valid identification
Proof of payment
- All bank charges or transaction fees incurred during the refund process shall be borne by the requester.
Refund Timeline
Refund processing will only commence after the conclusion of the conference.
Please allow approximately 2 months for the full processing of your refund, depending on the processing speed of your bank.
Conference Proceedings & Publication Opportunity
Please note that ICALA2026 currently does not have plans to publish conference proceedings.
Papers of exceptional quality presented at the conference may be recommended for publication in the international journal Studies of Applied Linguistics in Asia (SALA).
If you wish to be considered, please submit your full paper via the journal's submission portal by 15 May 2026: https://www.sciltp.com/journals/sala
The shuttle bus for the AALA(Macao) General meeting will be provided and is free of charge, with departures at 17:20, 17:40, 18:00, and 18:20.
